How to Question the I Ching

A weak question asks for control. A strong question asks to see measure, timing, knot, and your next honest step.

From “will it” to “what has ripened”

Yes/no often thins the I Ching. Better ask what is acting now and which step keeps measure.

  • What is important to understand now?
  • Which step is timely?
  • Where should I not rush?

About another person

Questions about another will are translated into your boundary, conversation, and behavior.

  • How should I speak?
  • What can I check with facts?
  • Where should I not invent?

Overloaded question

If the question contains love, money, relocation, and fear at once, the answer becomes muddy.

  • one scene
  • one choice
  • one check timing

Checklist

  • The question does not try to control another person.
  • The question can be tested through action.
  • The question does not demand a guarantee.

Boundaries

  • Do not ask about private messages, passwords, or surveillance.
  • Do not ask for diagnoses or official guarantees.
