I Ching Casting Methods

OmenHall separates three technologies: three coins, the 49-stalk Zhu Xi profile, and entry of your own physical cast. No method is sold as a ‘truer answer’.

Three Coins · later traditional method

Six throws of three coins, bottom to top. Coin faces cause the 6/7/8/9 values; digital mode must preserve them as a reproducible trace.

  • • Seal one question before casting.
  • • Cast three coins simultaneously for the bottom line and repeat six times.
  • • Sum the faces as 2/3 to obtain 6, 7, 8, or 9.
  • • Apply a separately declared reading school to the moving lines.
  • • Archive signal: 18 coin faces + six line values + reading-policy id

49 Stalks · Zhu Xi tradition

A slow method with three changes per line. Digital V2 faithfully reproduces the traditional 1:5:7:3 probability profile and does not pretend the browser physically divided real stalks.

  • • One of 50 stalks is set aside; 49 remain active.
  • • Three changes make one line; six lines require 18 changes.
  • • 24/28/32/36 remaining stalks yield 6/7/8/9.
  • • Digital mode stores change totals and an explicit model type.
  • • Archive signal: three change totals per line; no fake virtual piles

My physical cast

OmenHall generates nothing: the seeker enters six lines already obtained physically; extended V2 can also validate all 18 coin faces or three yarrow change totals for each line.

  • • Obtain the result physically outside OmenHall.
  • • Enter lines strictly bottom to top.
  • • When possible, preserve the original coin or stalk trace.
  • • Seal the record before modern interpretation.
  • • Archive signal: physical provenance + immutable six-line result

Checklist

  • • Lines are always built bottom to top.
  • • 6 and 9 are moving lines.
  • • Lines cannot be changed after interpretation begins.

Boundaries

  • • A physical cast may be entered manually, but not altered after the answer.
  • • Digital yarrow is not presented as literal physical stalk division.
  • • Yarrow is not sold as a paid ‘stronger’ way to obtain fate.
