Pairs and Lines

A pair is the smallest Lenormand sentence. A line of three or five cards shows movement: from where, what is central, to where.

Card 1 sets the theme

The first card often shows the subject: letter, home, money, heart, choice.

Card 2 changes the verb

Rider + Letter: message arrives. Mountain + Letter: message is delayed. Key + Letter: message opens a solution.

Center of the line

In a five-card line, the center is more important than the edges. Edges show entrance and exit, but the heart of the answer is in the middle.

Checklist

  • Turn the pair into a phrase.
  • Do not use ten meanings at once.
  • Check that the phrase answers the question.

Common mistakes

  • cycling through all possible meanings
  • forgetting the question
  • reading a beautiful card apart from a heavy neighbor
