Grand Tableau Basics

The Grand Tableau is not “the whole fate on the table,” but a map of relationships among 36 signs. It must be read in layers: significators, houses, lines, distances.

Significator

First find the querent or main theme card: Man, Woman, Heart, Ring, Fish, House, Letter.

Houses

The house of a card shows the stage where the theme landed. A card in Key's house speaks differently than a card in Mountain's house.

Do not read everything at once

The Grand Tableau is better read by question: relationship, work, money, letter, road, home. Otherwise it becomes noise.

Checklist

  • Choose the main theme.
  • Find the significator.
  • Read only needed lines.
  • Write a practical conclusion.

Common mistakes

  • reading all 36 cards as chaos
  • searching for fatal prophecy
  • frightening yourself with heavy cards
