Nine in the Third: the small person uses power; the noble person does not use it in that way. Constancy: danger. A ram butts a fence and entangles its horns.

罔 is difficult, but the final baseline rejects the earlier literal “net of restraint.” The negative reading (“the noble person does not [use strength that way]”) is independently supported by the Legge tradition and better fits the parallel syntax. Academic closure is still not claimed.
