Pausanias preserves the procedure but not the interpretive table. OmenHall may reconstruct the physical act as an exhibit, but any claim to know the historical answer for a cast would be invented.
The attested procedure can be reconstructed as an exhibit: prayer, four astragals, a cast on a table, then consultation of a table. The response table itself is lost, so OmenHall does not pass invented meanings off as ancient.
